Dear Blog,

Dalam kurun waktu 31 Maret 2008 sampai dengan 8 Agustus 2008, gw tercatat sebagai karyawan PT. Yakult Indonesia Persada. Ya, memang cukup singkat juga sih. Empat bulan. Di masa-masa itu, gw dapet kesempatan untuk belajar tentang PT. Yakult Indonesia Persada, dan produk Yakult pada umumnya.

Gw mau cerita tentang seremoni tiap hari Senin. Yap, setiap hari Senin kami karyawan PT. Yakult yang ada di Head Office (Plasa PP TB Simatupang) diwajibkan ikut seremoni. Yah semacam upacara pagi gitu. Buat gw, lumayan juga bikin semangat dan bikin melek.

Di seremoni itu, ada rekapan kegiatan selama seminggu. Engga detil banget sih, cuma laporan penjualan dan piutang. Kami bisa tahu performance kami secara keseluruhan.

Selain itu ada tanya jawab pengetahunan produk Yakult ala-ala role playing gitu. Kalo ada even-even istimewa pun diumuminnya di sini. Macem rekor penjualan, launching iklan baru, atau even-even internal macem medical check-up atau training pengetahuan produk.

Yang paling unik, kami mengawali seremoni itu dengan menyanyikan mars Yakult. Umm, didahului dengan pembacaan prinsip organisasi yakult dan semboyan-semboyan. Mungkin ada yang bilang, kayak anak SD banget sih. Terserah deh.

(wah, kurang lebih begitu sih, selebihnya gw lupa, mungkin ada karyawan Yakult yang bisa bantu? Nanti gw update deh, thanks).

Nah, abis seremoni, kerja lagi yang semangat. Supaya semangat, seremoni selalu ditutup dengan teriakan lantang (bagi yang semangat ya, yang enggak semangat sih keluar suara juga udah mending) yang bisa diartikan sebagai “Let’s do our best!”. Kira-kira begini:

“Mari kita tutup seremoni ini dengan : GANBARO!”

Oh my!

Adam Williamson will no longer work for Mandriva. What? The guy always represent Mandriva so well, some people think that he IS Mandriva. But Mandriva the company, due to a budget cut and harsh economic situation, fired the respected awilliamson. Bad move from Mandriva. Again. Yeah, right. Again. First was Gael Duval. The very founder of Mandrake. And now Adam? What are those guys in Paris thinking?

News spread on Distrowatch. Some of the comments suggest that Adam should work for Canonical slash Ubuntu slash Mark Shuttleworth. I don’t like Ubuntu, hence I don’t like Canonical. Do not agree with that. Some of the other suggest that he should help PCLinuxOS slash texstar. It is based on Mdv2007 anyway. I prefer this idea than the previous one. But Adam stated himself that he may will continue to be an active member of the Mandriva Community. I don’t know. Mandriva the distribution he said. Not the company.

Mandriva in my PC slash laptop? Always trying to get things working the way i like. Hasn’t succeed much. Mdv2006 was fine, Mdv2007 was also fine. The thing is, I didn’t get to install it on my SATA based laptop. MCNLive Toronto was also the same. Pendrivelinux (based on MCNLive Toronto which eventually based on Mdv2007) acts strangely that I can never fully understand. TinyMe 2008.0 has the same problem with SATA drives.

IMHO, Mandriva’s best release was the 2008 spring. One downside is the proprietary codecs, that you must purchase via Codeina if you want to listen to some exotic files like m4a and aac. I’m a KDE guy so the 2009 version along with KDE4 is still no match for KDE3 robustness and customizable traits.

So? so long Mandriva, I am now using PCLinuxOS MiniMe. Along with a working internet connection, MiniMe is a breeze to handle and customize. Especially when adding softwares and codecs. Synaptic is quite nice for an end user, on par with the urpmi graphical interface from original Mandriva. Maybe I’ll try Fedora 10 later on. They have quite nice reviews spread on the web.

Next bad news is Honda quits F1. Again due to economics condition. As the news suggests, a bit of optimism spread among the crew, including Jense and Ross Brawn. A team in need of an owner. Gaaa! I’m kinda confused on this one: will Honda continues to supply the engine for the team? Well Bernie (Ecclestone that is) suggests that all team should use one engine supplier somewhere in the near future. So the team could remain, under a new flag, new names, with … an engine supplier which I still haven’t figured out yet.

This economic storm … what the hell with it?

Bikin iri aja!

Bagus yaa pada majang foto outing di profile fs nya. Gw kan juga kepengen jalan-jalan. Haduuuh. Kapan ya bisa jalan-jalan dan melepas kebosanan?

Payah ni, temen-temen gw pada majang foto outing. Mentang-mentang kemaren abis pada ke anyer. Tanggal 1-2 pada pergi, eh foto outingnya udah pada dipajang tanggal 4. (Sungut-sungut).

Jadi teringat outing tahun lalu. If it weren’t for AJS.

Ah sudahlah, awas ya. Nanti gw juga mau majang foto. Cuma foto apa ya?

Dramatic. The perfect word to describe the 2008 F1 Racing Season.

Interlagos, Brasil. November 2nd 2008. I tuned in my TV set just in the nick of time, to find out that rain suddenly falls right before the formation lap. Brace yourself guys, it’s gonna be a blessing in disguise. Either for Felippe Massa, who was my favorite. I don’t like Lewis Hamilton. I never did like Lewis.

Why? I just don like the guy. The way he handles the car is way too aggresive. Harsh. Some even say he puts other driver in danger because he is just too plain agressive. Never did forget when he ram his car to the back of Kimi’s car this season. Didn’t remember which GP though.

Other driver also may don’t like him. Not that his half black or something. Not that he is a rookie also. He’s too harsh. The way Takuma Sato did. But the worst part of it, he got away with it. Some say you might be envy since he’s a rookie, joined McLaren, and gained a successful stint. Jealousy? maybe.

Well, okay, enough with the bashing. You can’t avoid the fact that F1 has just got more interesting with thid young studs. I am talking not only Lewis, but also since the generation of Kimi Raikkonen, Felippe Massa, up to Heiki Kovalainen, Robert Kubica, Sebastian Vettel, Nico Rosberg, Timo Glock, and my favorite: Jense.

Well anyway. Back to Interlagos. It was raining. But not for long. The circuit conditions healed quick enough for the drivers to put up on pace. Felipe was outstanding. He controlled the race from up front. Lewis was yoyo-ing in 4 or 5 position. Fighting with Sebastian. Vettel that is. Lewis minimally must finish in 5th spot in order to get him the world title. Well that’s just that.

Last two laps, it was look like Lewis would be crowned the title. He’s 5th. But Vettel was catching up. The Ferrari and McLaren boys waited in anxiety . So did I. Vettel was catching Lewis! We got our eyes on you Vettel! Come on! You can pull this off! And then…

Last Lap! Vettel catches Lewis! Yay! Ferrari boys all cheered up. They were jumpin in the paddock. The rain was pouring in small dots again. You could here the Brasilian crowds roaring as Vettel takes on Lewis. Can Lewis catch him again? Nooo! Not in a million years i hope. Not for the sake of those roaring Brasilian crowds. Standings now are: Felipe, Fernando, Kimi, Timo, Sebastian (Vettel) and Lewis.

And then came the rain. Along came the disaster. Felippe strikes finish in first. Fisting the air with number one! Brasilian crowds roaring. The TV commentator gets ecstatic! Lewis is still sixth. The TV commentator retorically says, “Can Lewis catch him?”, He was miles from Vettel. I waited in vain up to the last corner where Vettel catches two back markers. To me it seems like three back markers when the TV commentator said: “IS THAT TIMO GLOCK?”.

The Ferrari boys all jumpin’ around, including Felipe’s father. Not knowing what has really happened. So then I realized that Timow as fourth. If Vettel and Lewis passes him, then it’ll make Lewis fifth. Last corner, Vettel and Lewis nailed the two back markers, and also … Timo.

Lewis was fifth, and that is enough to secure the world title. Massa was surely gonna clinch the title until what? The very last corner of the GP. Ferrari boys finally realising that they celebrated one corner too early. McLaren boys? yeah, you know lah. Celebration.

Dang!

Anyhow, i am not gonna congratulate Lewis for this. I don’t like him. Yeah okay he’s the world champion. Nuff said. I am with Kimi! I’ll support Jense. Let’s see next year. Will be Kimi? Will it be Fernando? I don’t know. I do hope it’s gonna be Jense.

Oh well, enjoy the season testing and holidays. Prepare for the feast next March: 2009 F1 Season.

Some say it as ‘Quarter-life crisis’. Just look an entry in wikipedia. It’s there. Read all about it. I have all the symptomps.

Well, it’s time to be honest to one’s self. Am I in a so called ‘quarter-life crisis’? I guess so. I bored myself to death.

In a way, i thought to myself. So this is the way people ‘die’. What i mean by ‘dead’ here is not technically/physically ‘dead’. They just went numb in the inside. Imagine a situation where you are at age 30-something. Trying to connect with the world around you, but you just couldn’t understand a thing. As if the world is speaking in another language that you don’t longer understand. You are too lazy to learn something new, because you’re brain is stucked with the same thing over and over again. You become a robot. Living you’re life in routinity, day in and day out. You feel that there is no more challenges left that could excite you. There is no more things that can eager you in excitement. Thus, you’re as good as a veggie (no offense there).

I don’t know. Have i become a robot? Somehow i miss being excited. That tingling feeling of being challenged to something that attracts you. That goosebumps on the day of your first date. That overwhelming feeling when you look at something that pleases not only your eye but also touches your soul. Where have all these feelings gone?

Am i destined to be one of those numbskull? With no passion for life. Do I believe that I was destined for something great? Well one must believe.

Have I achieve something valuable in life? Will I ever achieve something? What is really important in my life?

I don’t know. I guess I would have to reflect on these questions again. Who am I? Who do I want to be? Who do I choose to be?

What’s the point? Career? Achievement? Soulmate? Welfareness?

I want to do something I like. Something that makes me feel meaningful. Yet i don’t know what it is.

Blabber. Oh sucks!!!

Dear Blog,
Sekarang, gw masih di kantor baru (baru?) gw di Yakult Indonesia Persada (YIP). How is it going di sini? Membosankan.
Iya sih di sini jalanan ke kantornya lancar, deket. Kerjaannya santai, gajinya lumayan. Tapi…
Ada sesuatu yang hilang aja.
Di sini gw … enggak maksimal. As in autobot maximal dari film CGI Beast Wars.
Entahlah.
Blog?
Keputusan apa yang harus gw ambil ya?
Terlalu banyak hal yang berkecamuk di pikiran gw.
Gw mo pulang dulu ah.

Capek!
Ya iyalah! namanya juga kerja! Cuman, aseli gw capek banget. Bukan capek fisik tapi capek pikiran. Mata gw juga lelah seharian melototin layar monitor ini. Kliyengan….
Jadi jarang ngeliat yang adem-adem…
Btw, yang adem di mata itu apaan yah? Pikir sendiri aja.
Duh…, pengin liburan. Jalan ke mana gitu, nenangin pikiran. Cuma, jalan bareng sapa? temen2 gw juga pada sibuk. Pada sama ama gw, terjebak rutinitas.
Yah, jalanin aja dulu lah…

Selalu begitu. Kalo ada waktu luang, baru nyempetin nulis blog.
Di kantor lagi, dan seperti biasa, enggak dapet lembur. Well anyway…
Semalem abis maen bola di Senayan, berbarengan sama konsernya Muse. Dear God, begitu dekat, tapi enggak bisa ngeliat langsung…
Tiketnya mahal gila! 500rb!
Muse…
Kenapa gw suka sama mereka? Musiknya menyayat! Melodis seperti musik klasik, tapi juga keras, shreading ala ala gitar rock, liriknya berisi, dan kalo didengerin bisa bikin merinding.
Kata orang, jenius sama gila itu beda tipis. Kata gw, Matthew Bellamy itu agak2 jenius, dan kata temen gw, musiknya Muse itu psycho. Terserah lah!
Udah dulu ah…
